Polly Namaye, the police deputy spokesperson says they have started a hunt for the driver of an Isuzu truck that knocked and killed the daughter of a legislator.
Hon. Tumusime Rosemary’s daughter (Doreen Tashobya) & another person (rider) were riding on a bike to the daughter’s work place this morning (21.06.2016) when they got involved in a fatal accident.
The motorcycle they were riding, Reg no. UDS 502N Bajaj boxer on collided with a red isuzu truck Reg UAP 872J that is used to carry sand.
The accident occurred at Muziga park on Entebbe road at about 0800am this morning.
The rider, Patrick Businge is an employee of the Hon. MP.
The Police is hunting for the driver of the Isuzu truck who is on the run, Namaye said.
However, the truck and the motorcycle have been towed to Entebbe Police Station for inspection.
“Cause of the accident is suspected to have been reckless driving on the part of the truck driver.”
She said an Inquiry file has been opened up to investigate circumstances that led to this accident.
“Drivers and riders are cautioned to exercise caution while on the road so as to avoid such accidents.”
