Police have picked up 35 suspected members of the notorious Bad Boys 13 aka B13 gang in connection to the attack on Kasana Police Post in Luweero town council.
The assailants stabbed Geoffrey Bala to death and injured Sergeant Sarah Achan critically.
As a result, Police swung into action to track the assailants.
By Thursday morning, Police had picked up 35 suspects from Kizito, Bukuma and Kavule zones in Luweero town council.
Some of the suspects include Ahamad Ssempala, Arafat Mugamba, Hassan Ssengendo and Denis Ssozi, the ring leaders of the B13 gang.
B13 gang members are known for terrorizing Luweero residents for survival.
Lameck Kigozi, the Savanah Regional Police Spokesperson says following a screening exercise, detectives have zeroed in on 10 members of the gang.
He says B13 gangsters have been threatening to raid Kasana Police Post to avenge the shooting of their leader the late Ronald Ssemuyaba Katongole last year during a botched burglary.
According to Kigozi, the gangsters renewed their threats on Saturday following the arrest of their leader Abdul Karim Ssenyimba alias Cobra in connection to various thefts in the district.
The officer in charge of Kasana Police Post in Luwero Town Council, Corporal Edgar Tuhairwe, was arrested following the murder.
He is accused of neglect of duty and cowardice for failure to help his colleagues.
