22 Ugandan referees get Fifa badges


Chief Guest FUFA Vice President, Justus Mugisha decorates FIFA Assistant referee, Lydia Nantabo Wanyama her badge at FUFA House, Mengo.

A total of 22 match officials have received their badges and gadgets on Wednesday at FUFA House, Mengo.

FUFA 1st Vice President Justus Mugisha handed over the badges and other gadgets on behalf of the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo.

During the ceremony, the FUFA Vice President asked the referees to keep consistent so that they can be appointed for bigger tournaments like AFCON and World Cup.

“I congratulate you for this achievement and ask you to keep consistent so that you are appointed for bigger tournaments like AFCON and World Cup,” said Mugisha.

The list of 22 has; 8 center referees, 11 assistant referees and 3 beach soccer referees.

Samuel Kayondo is the oldest on the list at 45 years while Docus Atuhaire is the youngest aged 23.

The list: Center referees: Denis Batte, Brian Miiro Nsubuga , Alex Muhabi ,Ali Sabilla Chelangat , Mashood Ssali, Anna Akoyi, Irene Namubiru and Aisha Nabiko Ssemambo.

Assistant referees: Musa Ngobi Balikoowa, Hussein Bugembe, Ronald Katenya, Samuel Kayondo, OkelloLee, Mark Ssonko, Docus Atuhaire, Jane Mutonyi, Catherine Cynthia Nagadya , Marex Nakitto Nkumbi , Lydia Wanyama Nantabo.

Beach Soccer referees: Ivan Kintu Bayige ,Shafic Mugerwa and Muhammad Senteza.
