2 arrested for shooting dead UPDF soldier


Uganda People’s Defense Force-UPDF is holding two suspects in connection to the murder of a soldier formerly attached to Lolachat detachment in Nakapiripirit district.

The suspects are Anyokira Nakinyon and Paul Loumo, both residents of Loyaraboth village in Kakomongole Sub County in Nakapiripirit district.

Private Morris Ojede Ayoo was shot seven times in the stomach and the chest as he walked from Lolachat Trading center after a drinking spree on April 7th, 2015.

The incident happened at Loyaraboth village, Nabolisi parish in Kakomongole Sub County, 89 kilometers South of Moroto town.

Captain Denis Omara, the 3rd Division UPDF spokesperson confirms the arrest of the two suspects linked to the murder.

According to Omara investigations are ongoing and they expect to recover the firearm that was used in the killing.

He says once investigations are done the suspects will be produced in court.
