1,200 students sent home after fire guts dorm

More than 1,200 students of Mbarara High School have been sent home after fire gutted one of their dormitories.

The school head master Benon Twinomujuni said students were due to start end of term exams on Monday next week.

Property including books, mattresses and beds were burnt to ashes in the fire which gutted Addis Ababa dormitory at around 9:30 pm.

Students were in classes for their evening preps at the time.

Police has launched investigations into the cause of the fire.
