Eleven heads of state have confirmed their attendance for the May 12 swearing in ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni.
This was revealed by government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo on Monday.
“We expect that number to rise,” Opondo said.
The government mouthpiece did not disclose which presidents exactly confirmed their attendance.
He reiterated that President Museveni is the legitimate winner of 2016 elections.
“He won the election and there’s overall peace.”
Opondo said preparations are in “top gear” for the May 12 swearing in ceremony for President Museveni, who has been the president since 1986.
Meanwhile, opposition Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] has announced a demonstration in Kampala and all districts across the country on May 5.
The protest will demand that 2016 elections be audited before Museveni can be sworn in.
