The clash between two families was triggered by the murder of an area resident identified as Simon Bwengye on Easter Sunday, who was allegedly hacked to death by his in laws after developing misunderstandings.
The in-laws alleged that the late Bwengye was close to his mother- in-law and that she was planning to provide lunch for him.
The incident took place in Kigarama village, in Ikumba Sub County, where he was hacked and died on arrival at Rubanda Kiizi Health Centre.
His death prompted his relatives to mobilize and attack the home of his killers, triggering clashes between the two sides.
The clashes resulted into to the destruction of the property and also saw tens of animals killed.
Kigezi regional Police spokesperson, Elly Maate, told Uganda Radio network that police is hunting for the killer who are said to be on the run identified as; Francis Ngabirano and Fred Nshaberuhanga.
